True to fashion, Tess Gerritsen delivers another suspenseful masterpiece. No her novels may not be literary gold mines but as far as Mystery/ Suspense goes she's carved out her own special place, at least in my library. I have yet to read one of her books and not thoroughly enjoy it from beginning to end. (Note: I have not read any of her romance novels)

The Keepsake is a fast paced well researched novel that brings the ancient smack dab into the present. With twists and turns that keep you hanging onto the edge of your seat as the story rolls ahead. My only real complaint about the book overall is the forbidden romance between Maura Isles and Father Daniel Brophy, it seemed to come up too much. I understand it's necessary to some extent to frame parts of the story and as a way of explaining Maura's feelings/ experiences, but at times it felt almost thrown in. Other than that small complaint, it's a great read.
