bookshelves: stopped-reading

I was thinking this book was okay, but then I researched Joyce Maynard. Her name rang a bell, and I thought that perhaps she was the woman who had had a relationship with the reclusive J.D. Salinger, and it turns out, yes, that was she. The more I read about her personal life and the decisions she made, particularly regarding Salinger and a tell-all memoir she wrote and his letters to her that she sold, the less respect I had for her (yikes! but it's true!), and I ended up putting this book down in favor of something else... and I haven't gone back yet. When I was a teenager, I LOVED Salinger, and I guess I'm still loyal...
