Read in September, 2010

Loved this. It was short, simple, and concise. Well-written and thought provoking. I agree with the author in that it doesn't really have a plot, but it does have a story to tell. I don't think this should be compared to other, longer dystopian novels. This is more prose than a science fiction novel. Thus, it shouldn't be classified or treated the same as a novel.

Weaknesses:
* It seemed that the main character escaped much too easily. So thus there was a lack of conflict.
* I wished it was a little longer so I could get a greater sense of the feeling of disempowerment.
* I didn't like was how the main male character says to the main female character that they should choose names and then proceeds to tell her the name he has decided for her. Kind of kills the point of individualization.
