Teaching Guide Information:

Mirka lives in a traditional Jewish town where her dream of fighting dragons is scoffed at by her siblings and step-mother. However, when the opportunity comes to get a sword, Mirka does everything she can (and needs to) to succeed.

I hope that there is a second Hereville book (there seems that there should be) because this book seems like only the beginning of Mirka's adventures.

Not only is this graphic novel a piece of art- Barry Deutsch's drawings are superb and the set-up of the graphic novel is so unique, but the graphic novel also teaches the reader about Judaism so that they can understand the characters (and hopefully some people they know).

A great, fun read!
