** spoiler alert ** This story had potential to be good, but the protagonist, James, was super annoying and I found him to be so irritating that after a while I did not want him to succeed. Miko was by far a better character. Also, the dialogue when James was in present time, before being transported to the magical land, was to contrived, to forced. He did not speak like a teenager; no contractions, always proper grammar. I am not sure if I will continue with this series as it took forever for me to finish this book and I am not invested in the characters. My favorite part of this book was that it was free for my nook.
