I read this book without having ever seen the movie, and it was unbelievable! It's been a long time since I've read a book that got me invested in the plot so quickly and kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the entire reading. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone who is looking for a good book to read. The incredible detail and language that Puzo uses to build the world of the Corleone is breathtaking, and although the family is fictional, his plot is so believable that it is easy to forget these are not living breathing people. Michael Corleone might be the most amazing character I've ever read. He's such a fascinating figure, even more than his father is. The Godfather easily catapulted itself onto the list of my top five favorite books of all time, and it's definitely worth a second read. After I have a marathon viewing the movies, that is.
