The title is funny. It just IS.
The cover makes me laugh.
I'm giving a slew of Kinky Friedman books five stars because of the titles.
THE CHRISTMAS PIG is a funny title. But THE CHRISTMAS PIG: A FABLE is funnier.

Emanuel And the author's name... tell me it's not real? Well, i think it's the funniest... Kinky Friedman?

Frederick Hey, Emanuel,

Kinky is a nickname. I don't know how he acquired it, but his hair is very curly. He was well-known in the early seventies for humourous records (which had a serious side) which he made with his group, Kinky Friedman and the Texas Jewboys. His novel-writing is a more recent phenomenom. In 2006 he ran for Governor of Texas. A lot of comedians do this. Stephen Colbert, the political satirist, ran for President in the current election, but only for the state of South Carolina. (This, of course, would be like being King of England, but only of Liverpool.)
Kinky Friedman also sponsors animal rescue. I wouldn't be surprised if THE CHRISTMAS PIG has a theme of kindness to animals.
Here is a little bit of information about him from Internet Movie Database:
