I *heart* Sentients! I was privileged with a sneak preview of Whisper of Light, second novel in the Light series, and it was indeed a treat. I was a little leery of being introduced to a whole new group here---wasn't sure they could capture the magic of Abram's group in Seers---but I was pleasantly surprised at how easily I fell in with them. Jennifer DeLucy has an amazing talent for managing a big cast. Each character has his/her own distinct personality, and it never feels like they're fighting for screen time; the story has a natural flow.

Even though there is no big, intense supernatural showdown like we had in the first book, we get to see plenty of Sentient action with each case offering some new insight into the world of specters. And even here, DeLucy offers up engaging variety with a whole buffet of apparitions - no two ghosts are alike.

And the romance...ah, the romance. But I'll let you find out more about that all on your own. ;)
