Spiritual Midwifery
by Ina May Gaskin
by Ina May Gaskin
The Farm is a place where Ina May Gaskin's positive birthing philosophy is put into practice. The best chucks of the book were non invasive suggestions to increase comfort during pregnancy and labor as well as the last chapter directed to midwives. The medical drawings are accompanied by straight forward explanations. Some drawings make me cringe, yet fascinating. Gaskin has done research and lets you know what a hospital is likely to offer and how to advocate for yourself / the baby.
The first half of the writing was a collection of birthing stories. I am getting burnt out on reading birthing stories. I only read a few. I know to be prepared for the unexpected and focus on breathing.
