** spoiler alert **
Delia Hopkins' world is turned upside down when her father is accused of kidnapping her when she was a toddler. Through the court trial, as well as the daily trials of meeting her mother (whom she'd thought dead), dealing with her alcoholic husband, and holding her own family together, she will come to understand that life is merely a set of perceptions that are constantly changing.
I absolutely loved Ruthann and her ideas of various unorthodox Barbies, and Fitz and Eric and their childhood together were treasures to read. I also loved Andrew Hopkins and his efforts to survive in jail and show the world that what he'd done couldn't possibly be considered a crime.
Ohhhh Jodi Picoult, you kill me. You really do. My love affair with her novels started when I read My Sister's Keeper. And hated it. But couldn't stop thinking about it.
She is an amazing, thought-provoking author, and this book didn't let me down. The emotions leap off the page without seeming over-the-top, and I seriously dream of writing like her. Although I usually hate her endings, I'm coming to accept them because the rest of her books are too good to ignore.
