I just can't seem to get into this one. The pace is pretty slow and the only thing that remotely intrigues me is what happened between the grandmother, her mother and her aunt. It just isn't enough to keep going especially since I'm almost a hundred pages into it. I'm sure that there are readers who will love this story, but I'm going to have to hand it off to someone else to get a fairer review. One more thing (that was kinda the last straw) the immediate shortening of Emily's name to Em upon meeting her without ever being told to call her that. Just very odd and a bit too abrupt for my tastes.
