Meh. So bummed about this book. The first one was so solid, the second one was still awesome, and then this fell short for me. Still glad I read it, but too many plot strings were loose with a disappointing ending. More thoughts with a more formal review later...

Michelle Wegner Agree 100% :)

Karen Overall I liked the book because of the complete series, but now, almost 2 months after I read the book what keeps coming to my mind is that Katniss was so mentally lost (which is understandable and expected) then she would be the hero and fall back into her mental fog only to come out of it in time to be the hero and go back again. Very annoying. Did that strike you as well?

Megan Franks Me, too! Then again, I'm not sure that it could have ended any other way. I mean, things couldn't be all sunshine and roses, but still...

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) Yep, same thing for me: loved the first book, thought the second was good but man, the third disappointed! I expected Katniss to be a great heroine, not a damn spineless wimp. I didn't sign up for PTSD reality, I signed up for the kick butt heroine I was promised by the first book.

Amy Wow, thank you guys for all of this feedback. I feel like we were all on the same page with this. I think the first one just set the bar so high, that I really just was hoping for so much more with this one! I am glad to see I wasn't the only one feeling this way!
