** spoiler alert ** Once again I found myself immersed in the world of the faeries with Ironside. Following Valiant it was the perfect ending to the series and I must admit there is something so perfect and flawless about how both of the world presented in Tithe and Valiant meshed together producing an intriguing, gripping adventure filled with the mystery of a romance that cannot quite be and the promise of sheer magic you get when you open one of these books. As always it's dark, it offensive at times, the swearing is a little more prominent in these books than in most YA literature, there's not denying it and as always it questions how we see the world, there is no denying that this is one of the best books of the series, I would say it contends pretty strongly with Tithe and I would say it is my favorite of the series currently.

I think Kaye is a much more interesting female lead than Val, she just seems to be stronger and it's her strong-mindedness which really gives her strength in this one, although it too may have almost been her undoing. I feel that in this book her relationship with Roiben really strengthens and what separates them really does make them a stronger pair. It is their strength that really gives them this brilliant way of communicating, both of them are rather strong-minded and this clash of personality really does make them the perfect match. I love how conflicted they are in this, between Roiben's duties at King of the Unseelie Court and Kaye attempting to still be with him despite him, her being tricked too was also interesting but once again is an example of her strong-mindedness.

I really loved how the characters from Valiant came into this, it was interesting how they lived following the events of Valiant and it's even more interesting to see how Corny reacts to them. If you're looking for something unique, interesting and above all else entertaining then this is for you. In true Holly Black style this book delivers what you expect and more from the moment you begin to the moment you finish you never know what to expect next. A brilliant read for older teenagers and above.

5 Stars.
