really liked it
bookshelves: classics, horror
Read from October 07 to 19, 2010

This was my first attempt at what might be called "Classic Horror." I was really impressed. So much of modern horror relies on a lot of blood, gore and sex but this story (though it did have a certain amount of violence) dealt primarily with mental anguish, guilt, remorse and the nature of evil much more than with graphic physical violence. I really enjoyed the fact that this book made me think more than it made me cringe.

I also liked the way that the story was presented as a series of letters. I thought this was a creative way of telling the story. So, overall, a really great read.
