Can I start by marveling at my inadvertent timing? Finished this tonight, and the sequel - which is literally the second half of the book, since it ends abruptly w/o resolution (damn you publishers, frightened of massive books!) - comes out next week. Hurrah! I'm so not fond of the waiting.

But, anyway. If ever there was a time traveling historical novel for me, this is it. World War II era England (and the years leading up to them) is totally one of my favorites and totally what I'd go back to, given the opportunity. So doing so with Polly, Merope and Mike here was just dreamy. A bit of a slow start (especially as this is my first Willis) and a little wordy as I was getting into it, but once I was hooked, I completely fell for it. Stayed up too late reading it, thought of it and wished I could be reading it when I wasn't, the whole nine yards. All Clear next, please.
