Troubleshooters #3 is Teri Howe and Stan Wolchonok's book, with a third WWII background romance and the beginning of Max and Gina's journey. And, after a long break, Sam and Alyssa end up in the same place and almost together, until an old girlfriend of Sam's steps back into the picture.

See, here's one of the brilliant things about this series. Each book has a definite hero/heroine couple (well, book 14 or so is hero/hero, but you know what I mean). And Brockmann fulfills the unspoken promise that an author makes to a reader that the H/H will get their happily-ever-after (HEA). But for the non-main couple(s)? Oh, no such promise is made. Anything could happen, and bad things do. If you keep reading the series, I think just about everyone eventually gets their HEA, but for some, it's not for a long time and not till some serious mistakes have been made and dealt with. And that's refreshing. Another of the many reasons I love this series.
