Despite the advertisements of unrelenting suspense on the cover, the first 100 pages of this novel didn't keep me suspended at all. More like bored, impatient, and un-interested. It may get better, but unfortunately life, and October, are too short for me to stick around and find out. :(

Sera Uh oh.

Alison Haha. I sound like a meanie. Should have written that after breakfast. :)

Sera LOL - no worries. I completely get it.

Beth I didn't really like this either. Listened to it on audio. I chose it because Stephen King was very complimentary of this writer. Sort of a creative idea, but totally dumb and forgettable characters. I think this guy wrote the book for "A Simple Plan", which was a great story and a terrific movie. But this one just fell flat.

Alison Stephen King seems to give his compliments out pretty freely. If I recall, he also loved Edgar Sawtelle. And you know how that turned out for me!!

Beth Yeah me too. I probably gave that one a better rating than it deserved.

Sara I had to one star this book, also.
