A newly slim young woman faces the problems that led to her obesity as she struggles to figure out just who she is now. Perhaps the most significant (and heart-rending) relationship involves her psychotic mother and baby sister. After her mother's death she is taken in by her mother's sister's family. There she is victimized by her uncle--not physically, but emotionally. Can Stevie put the pain of the past behind her and find her way to happiness? And lest you think the story is all pain, there is plenty of humor in Stevie's journey--and not just from her cousin's new business selling inflatable dolls.
