** spoiler alert ** I’m not sure why this book has got such rave reviews. Sure, it’s a nicely juicy suspense thriller which you can gobble up quickly, but it’s not brilliant in terms of plotting, character or writing. I found it a bit too sensationalist and unbelievable. And I wasn’t convinced that Katherine would jump into bed with a relative stranger after witnessing her younger sister being raped by a gang of thugs. I just don’t think she’d be that trusting, so soon. Equally I didn’t buy how accepting her parents were when they found out their 17 year old daughter was pregnant by a bloke she’d only just met.
So, not very subtle; I would have preferred a more mature treatment of the story.
