A dark fairy tale. The book will be challenging for some as it weaves its story. We begin with Jacob finding the mirror that will send him into the dark world of fairy tales. The story flash forwards many years later in the the next chapter to Jacob on a misson to save his younger brother, who has just now followed him into the mirror. Jacob's years of living in this land will help him in his quest. The story is not linear but I think it adds dimension. The world is wonderfully imagined. All of the characters have depth with the exception of Will. The characters are all in their twenties so the book could just have easily been placed in adult. However, the book will appeal to teens. There is some hints to Jacob's past involvements but nothing at all graphic.
