Bebe Laudermilk, a spoiled Savannah, GA Southern Belle, finds herself swept off of her feet by Reddy, an "investment counselor" who turns out to be a con man. When Bebe wakes one morning to find she has been swindled out of nearly everything she owns, she vows revenge on Reddy and sets out to find him. Her circumstances require her to venture to Tybee Island, Ga to the only piece of anything she has left, The Breeze Inn, a rundown motel situated beautifully on the ocean. Thinking she'll sell the wreck and turn a tidy profit, she assesses the situation. Her only choice becomes fixing up The Breeze Inn with the help of the property manager Harry, a down-on-his-luck fisherman who has been living at the Breeze rent free and maintaining it. Bebe needs to turn the wreck of a motel into a profitable venture...and quick! With the busy St. Patrick's Day weekend approaching, Bebe sets out to fix-up and rent out the Breeze, which temporarily puts Reddy on the back burner. But, before long, she's after him again and she won't stop until she has taken EVERYTHING back! Savannah Breeze is a fun and fluffy read. It was a great way to pass the time while driving to and from Richmond and Danville this weekend. I loved the writing, the quick wit and the ease of the story. Nothing deep here, but interesting and fun enough to keep your mind occupied. I have to admit, I was somewhat disappointed in the ending, but it certainly was fitting. A great vacation, beach, car, mindless read. Definitely recommended.
