This was a very different kind of book. Written in a kind of Journal style. It was a compilation of journal/diary entiries, newspaper clippings, invitations, etc. that told the life story of two girls from their birth until they were in their 50's. The two girls were best friends but came from totally different worlds. The story was compelling (but sometimes a little predictible). It was kind of amazing how well developed the characters were considering the style it was written. The ending was a little flat and a bit anti climatic. Otherwise I would have given it five stars.
