A less than formidable finale to the least impressive of Cornwell's series on Medieval Britain. Invested enough in seeing the characters through after Grail Quest books #1 & 2, this book fell flat for me and ultimately far too predictable. Cornwell is a brilliant author, but his strongest work comes through in first-person accounts like his Warlord Chronicles and Saxon Stories. The Grail Quest series lacked much of the historical drama, especially in this third part, of those other outings as well as the depth in characters that I've come to expect. I'm glad I borrowed these ones from the SFPL.
