What is it about Kerouac that keeps me coming back for more? He's just got a spiritedness and livelihood that I admire, and it comes off in his writing. Really, the reason why I read this particular book was because I heard he describes a night where he met Gore Vidal--of course, it's only glazed over in the book. Weird thing: Kerouac mentions in passing a Tennessee Williams story that I just read a few days ago. Synchronicity!
