This short work by Gary Paulsen tells the story of two brothers' childhood through the changing seasons on their farm. After a series of humorous and homey anecdotes and descriptions the book arrives at its climax. Wayne, the older brother, feels betrayed by the stories his Uncle David tells them and in initiates a subtle emotional crisis in the family. Brief but poignant, this book deals with the struggles of early adolescence when the innocence of childhood begins to fall away. A quick, easy read, recommended to all.
