really liked it
bookshelves: 2011-read, young-adult, favorite-books, fantasy, enemies-to-lovers, no-love-triangle
Read from July 15 to 20, 2011 — I own a copy

Enjoyed it A LOT, even if I'll admit some parts disappointed me, like, we never got to see North using his new and quite improved cloak, and I had such high expectations for that scene; also, Sydelle’s kidnapping and following escape needed a lot more development---the whole thing was resolved too easily for my taste.

I also felt that sometimes the author forgets the readers don't know everything about the characters, that we don't know them as she does, and because of that a couple of scenes got a bit confusing, but in the end I enjoyed this book immensely, flaws and all.

The writing, and especially the dialogues were extremely fun, North cracked me up every time he displayed his complete lack of ability to find the right path or direction for him and Syd to travel, which is so ironic being his name 'North', and my favorite part: the bickering! My God, there's nothing I love more than a couple who pretends they can't stand each other but have to suck it up and just be together because, well, they have to. LOVE. IT.

So, yes, I’ll certainly read more of this author, and I can, and I will, recommend Brightly Woven without reservations for fans of YA epic fantasy.
