Jacob (Nightwalkers, #1)
by Jacquelyn Frank (Goodreads Author)
by Jacquelyn Frank (Goodreads Author)
In this book, Jacquelyn Frank sets the stage for a slew of beings known as the nightwalkers and begins the series by focusing on one particular race of nightwalkers known as Demons. Frank's take on Demons is very refreshing and gives it a whole new, and very yummy, meaning.
This series starts off with Jacob's story, a Demon Enforcer. While going after those who attempt to do the forbidden during the time of the Hallowed Moon (a time when Demons are the most susceptible to giving into their basest of urges with humans, thus endangering them due to the intensity and brutality of their kind during such acts), he stumbles across the human Isabella Russ. She literally falls out of her window and into his arms... and thus, into his heart. For the first time in all his centuries of living he finds himself unable to resist a human. Of course, all is not as it seems and some very interesting twists occur. Ones of genetic lineage, prophecies and dark magic.
This first installment starts the series off in full swing and introduces several likable characters whose stories I cannot wait to read. So far, Frank's 'The Nightwalkers' series promises to be full of suspenseful action, magical fantasy and, of course, true love. Could you ask for anything more?
