Ages 12+ Not quite as exciting as blue bloods (i think i need to re-read the first to remind me of some of the characters & events) but still fun with a killer cliffhanger ending. Not top-qual literature, obvs, and would benefit from 50 more pages of explanation (too many characters, not enough time) but not bad, overall. The vampire elite still aren't convinced that the Silverbloods are back. Lawrence Van Alen returns from self-imposed exile in Venice at the behest of his granddaughter Schuyler. Schuyler is being pressured to take a human familiar - a concept similar to losing human virginity - in order to preserve her health. Bliss is haunted by vivid nightmares. Mimi is jealous of Jack and Schuyler's connection. A new sexpot blueblood, Kingsley Martin, arrives on scene. And there's a masquerade ball.
