Fifth-grader Nick Allen takes on the establishment in this fun, clever tale of a boy who spars with his English teacher over the proper naming of things. At first he starts off just trying to annoy her by calling a pen a "frindle", but the idea takes on a life of its own, right down to the merchandising of frindle hats and t-shirts. It's a good lesson in how media influences culture and the power of a single person.
