Loved the classic movie and love the book even more
Such a great epic about how one family could really be a part of all of the greatest adventures of the 19th century.
Follows the Prescott/ Rawlings families through the conquering of the West, from settling in Ohio, the gold fields of California, back to the Battle of Shiloh, the military presence in the West after the Civil War, the transcontinental railroad and finally the Wild West days of outlaws and the marshalls who brought order and justice.
