For a while now I’ve been seeing The Immortal Instruments series at the book store and I’ve heard a lot of talk about it from other blog websites. It wasn’t at the top of my TBR list until a local book retailer went out of business and had all their books for 60% off…this convinced me to purchase many many books on my list, including The Immortal Instruments series.
The first book, City of Bones, is pretty thick with nearly 500 pages. It took me almost 3 days to read it and that time was spent staying up late into the night, reading on lunch breaks, basically any free time I had…I read!
I thought this book was very engaging and the plot kept me reading. I felt the twist in the plot kept the story moving and never did I feel bored with where the story was going. I do have to say that I was a bit disappointed int he outcome of Jace and Clary but we can’t always have everything we want and it was still a happy ending… well sort of. LOL
I enjoyed Cassandra Clare’s novel and would recommend putting this on your list to read. I’m looking forward to reading the second book in the series, City of Ashes next.
