I didn't like this as much as "The Dain Curse" and his other novels, but by the end it had a fascination I couldn't deny. The beginning, the set up, was very abrupt, almost to the point of being confusing. But I like abruptness, so I can't really complain. Incredibly well-written of course.

Jaime I love the movie, but haven't read the book (yet). You'll have to let me know what you think.

My intro to Hammett, Chandler, Spillane, et al, was via old movies I watched on tv as a kid. I've never outgrown my love for the hardboiled, in print or on film!

Remy I read the other four Hammett novels; this is the final one for me. I think he has lots of stories though and I haven't read those. I love him; though I must say 'The Thin Man' is one of the rare cases where the movie is as good or better than the book!

Remy But I have not seen the movie of 'The Glass Key'!

Jaime I sure love me some Thin Man, in any media!

Remy But the novel doesn't have Asta in it. That's one vote for the movie!
