A very sweet romance. Phillip and Eloise had been corresponding for a year after the death of his wife. Out of the blue Phillip has asked Eloise to come to his house and see if they suit in order that she might marry him. Kind of like your online dating except 1800s style.

Of course they are neither one what the other expects, plus Phillip forgot to mention that he has two unruly children. Eloise is sure they won't suit and then Phillip kisses her and all thoughts of leaving have kind of flew out of her head.

Phillip had been living a monk's existence before Eloise arrived. Once she arrived his and his children's lives suddenly light up with the possibilities of new life and love. Wonderful ending to a very good book.

SheLove2Read Is it necessary to read this in order or is it a standalone?

Keri Sherri, sorry I didn't see this before, but no, I think you could read this just fine w/out having to read the others first. I read this out of order and didn't feel lost.
