** spoiler alert **
This book picks up right where the last one left off as Allie deals with all the magic now going through her and slowly discovers a world of magic she has known nothing about, even in her own hounding world.
I love Allie in all her messed up glory. I love Zayvion (so hot in my head) and his interactions with Allie. I loved the hounding meeting and that she is slowly forming these bonds to people, pushing her way outside her comfort zone.
The whole plot with the hounding job, her ghost dad, and the secret society of magic people seemed so rushed at parts. It seemed like the pacing was slightly off - like the first third of the book almost nothing big happens and then it's non-stop until the very last page. The author did avoid a huge information dump, which I appreciate, but it seemed a little overwhelming at moments. That said, it did keep me turning every page and wanting to know more at the very end, even if my head was slightly spinning with everything that had happened and the lack of real resolution (which makes sense as part of a series - just not as an individual read).
I'm definitely intrigued to see how this story develops in the next book and do plan to read more. Overall, I really enjoyed the book.
