Ever since I read Jeri Smith-Ready's Shade I've become a huge fan of her work. She's one of the few authors I'll whose books I'll purchase in hardback, and that's not just because she sets most of her books in Maryland, where I'm from. But I digress. I read the first book in the WVMP series, Wicked Game last year, and I have to say that Bad to the Bone is even better! I enjoyed the changes in Ciara's world, especially the changes in Ciara's and Shane's relationship. They're experiencing some growing pains, which is realistic in any relationship as the initial honeymoon stage wears off.

The badies in this book are religious zealots who take their hatred of vampires to an extreme. They pre-empt the station's broadcast, and if that wasn't bad enough, they do some terribly evil things as well. The story wasn't predictable and there were even a few surprises I didn't see coming! I adore Ciara and the WVMP crew and I can't wait to read more about their further adventures in the next book in the series, Bring On the Night (WVMP, Book 3).
