** spoiler alert ** Curious George was just a little less wonderful then I remember. I definitely remeber loving it as a young one, but just didn't dig it as an older reader. First of all the man in the yellow hat just kidnaps George, there's no discussion there's no asking, the man in the yellow hat just traps him in a sack and takes him takes him a way! And then they're friends in the city? Friends? Really? Kind of reminds me of stockholm syndrome... Also the plot is just really scattered: he's here, he's there, he's in jail, he's being flown a way by balloons, too much, just too much. And then his "friend" buys the balloons, but does not make him go back to jail- what?. Far be it for me to judge a classic, I wouldn't stop a kid from reading it, but I just don't get it.
