I have found this series to be a little to close to home at times. I enjoyed Little Altars Everywhere. I found it a very interesting depiction of incest which I did not anticipate in the Ya-Ya Sisterhood book which was much more commercial. I listened to the audio of Ya-Yas in Bloom. It was more l linked short stories rather than a cohesive novel. There were stories from the point of view of three generations - Ya-Yas, Petite Ya-Yas and Tres Petite Ya-Yas with a few random town folk thrown in. The ones from the childhood view of the Ya-Yas and their children were somewhat interesting. However many stories fell into predictable cotton candy clichés - not much nuance. The audio book has a great narrator. If I had been reading it, I would not have completed the book.

After reading some of the other reviews, I lowered my rating to 1 star and concur with another reader that this book was a shameless attempt to exploit the commercial sucess of the Devine Sisterhood - poorly written and executed.
