I've read several Courtney Milan books, and liked them all a lot. This one was no different. In the prologue, the heroine is looking forward to trying out a new bit of skimpy lingerie and telling her new husband one of her secrets, when he announces over breakfast that he's leaving for China. Today. At noon. She asks him not to go, he says he has to, and boom. He's gone. Then chapter one opens with the heroine walking across the countryside three years later. Her secret-that she rescues women from abusive situations-has expanded, and her husband still hasn't come home. Except now he has, and he wants to win his wife back. Only she's not sure she's interested. After all, he skipped town 3 months after their wedding, and stayed gone for 3 years. The story blends their reconciliation with the rescue work in a story I really liked. Good Read.

Kathyred I liked this one, too. I liked that they didn't just immediately jump into bed w/ each other, and that he had believable issues he had to work out before coming back.
