really liked it

After Gary Paulson’s book, The Hatchet, he received an overwhelming response from readers who wanted to know what would have happened if Brian hadn’t been rescued so soon. So, Brian’s Winter, picks up before the end of The Hatchet. Brian is stranded in the wilderness after surviving a plane crash, which left the pilot dead. Brian pulls together all of his survival skills and forages food left behind by the wolves, befriends a skunk, survives more than one encounter with a bear, and shoots a moose with his homemade bow and arrow (of course, he does get semi-trampled in the process). Through the trials and tribulations presented to him, Brian proves to readers of The Hatchet who were left wanting more, that he is in fact able to survive a winter alone in the wilderness.
