This book follows Kendra, better known as Kenny, as she struggles with her identity and a 'family that isn't really hers'. After the death of her mother, and the incarceration of her father, Kenny is forced to live with her father's girlfriend and her children. Kenny is scared of being forced out at the age of 18, but with no where to go, she struggles to make herself as useful as possible. More importantly, Kenny struggles with her sexual and gender identity, which makes this book great for teens dealing with similar issues.
