Maybe it's just me, but this book seemed like nothing but a waste of time. Flimsy, whiney, unrelateable characters roaming around a thin, bland-then-suddenly-sensational plot.
I don't recall the last time I spent so much time forcing myself through a 176 page novel. It was slow moving in the beginning, showed mild promise in the middle and took an odd unexpected turn toward the end, only to resolve in a lame and predictable manner. In all fairness, it is a foreign novel. Maybe something was lost on me in the translation.
