it was amazing
bookshelves: social-studies

I love this book because it is a good representation of the effects that the segregation had on families first hand. The book was an easy read and would be great to use in a classroom when discusing Civil Rights movement. I like that the book incorporated comedy in the story line because the characters were really able to come alive. Children would eaily relate to the characters and would be able to understand the stuggles and hardships that the families lived during 1963 in their trusty brown car.
