The story of two sisters and one of their best friends who head to Nantucket for a summer of getting away from life’s problems. One sister is dying of cancer, one sister has had an affair with one of her students (a man, one year older than her) and the friend is finally pregnant after 7 rounds of IVF only to discover that her husband is having an affair. While on the island they befriend a college student, home for the summer. They hire him to babysit the children during chemo and trips to the beach and together the three women and this young man forge a relationship that lasts through time. A great read easy read. Fun for the beach and especially endearing because I know and love Nantucket.
