What a fantastic book! I've always felt that we connected to our ancestors in ways that we sometimes don't realize, so the thread between Oskar and his Grandfather intrigues me, although some of the similarities in their lives are heartbreaking. I love the scrapbook- journal style of writing. I'm pretty sure Jonathan Safran Foer is going to be one of my favorite writers. I also loved "Everything is Illuminated."

The writer writes in such a spontaneous, stream-of-consciousness, journal-like style that I find myself sometimes trying to figure out which character I'm reading about. That's kind of fun, sometimes, though, especially since the characters are related. All-in-all, I love the book."
