After reading the NY Books review of this book, I logged into my local library to request it and found I was 532 of 550. I finally received it and it was worth the incredible wait. The book centers around an international newspaper in Rome and the chapters introduce us to the mostly American people who work there. The characters all have these idiosyncrasies which might be construed as sad or dark but they are written with such light and deft they come off funny and quirky. As super fast and fun read.
