really liked it
bookshelves: books-for-guys, middle-grade, contemporary-fiction, ya-lit, gentle-ya
Read from May 22 to 24, 2011

Pros:
Funny voice, distinctive style
Cast of appropriately quirky, likable characters
Multiple methods of storytelling (illustrations/text)
Narrator glances meaningfully at the fourth wall, but doesn't completely knock it down

Cons:
Reads like middle grade, but the protagonist Ry is 16. Maybe it's young YA?
Super stressful to read because Ry makes a bunch of REALLY STUPID decisions
Cast of appropriately quirky characters
Not sure the dog story line adds much
