500 years after the apocalypse that destroyed the world "as we knew it", the idyllic life in the protected valley is coming to an end, too.
Amazingly, both men in this ideal setting and trolls outside have similar very bad world views. This is part of the conflict that Mr. Brooks sets up that the nice people, trolls and elves have to deal with.
With over 30 books so far, Mr. Brooks has set a high standard in fantasy, just check out what Library Journal and Publishers Weekly have to say.
