As usual with a Lora Leigh book, one is guaranteed the hottest, steamiest, and amazing sex. She writes with such clarity and puts emotion in the act (including the threesome), that the need to have a third is justified, and it doesn't smack porn.
The story was intense and emotional, I didn't give this a five because I somehow felt heavy while reading it, especially when Kia struggles to hold her head up high even while she's hurting. It's visible how she got over everything, her resilience is really admirable, and I ached for her whenever Chase didn't cuddle up and kept her warm through the night.
Now the thing about Chase is sure he's hot and all, and one couldn't blame for his skeptical and stubborn, not to mention dominating streak, but I hated it when he couldn't just move on. It took a mugging and some stitches in Kia's head to knock the sense out of HIM.
They're both in denial, but they're actions give them away. They're almost obsessed with each other even before Kia married Drew. Lust turned into love eventually, and it's touching how genuine their feelings were expressed. Chase was a real dear, he respects Kia, and is very protective of her. I liked Khalid as well, he's an honorable guy, and because of the foreshadowing, it's obvious his story's next. I'll read it soon.
