Dexter takes a departure from tradition in his new mystery, and it's quite refreshing after a sluggish second outing. This time, the provenance of the Dark Passenger is explored, as Dexter is left alone for the first time since childhood. Ancient religion comes into play when bodies are discovered burned and beheaded, with ceramic bull's heads in place of their own. Fast paced and exciting, even if the final confrontation with the killer is a little less than thrilling. Will have teen appeal for older teens because of the Showtime series.
