A few years ago there was a free newsletter in DC on books. The newsletter had snippets of recently published books. I used to read it on my way to/from work. Sadly, it disappeared some time ago.

This newsletter did get me interested in this book. The part in the newsletter made the book sound like the story actually happened, but sadly I found it in the fiction section of the library and reading the story it clearly is fictional.

Other then that, the story was good. It was fun to read, and it was interesting to read about the actual neighborhood I live in. The description of the streets and houses is quite accurate. Thankfully, some of the activity discussed in the book is being pushed out of the neighborhood through gentrification. Of course, the author feel into the trap a lot fictional writers do, sex. I'm no Puritan, but I don't get excited reading about sexual encounters.
